LinkedIn Easy Apply Alternatives: What to Use Instead

7 min read·By WiseApply Editorial·

Easy Apply exists because LinkedIn wants applications to happen inside LinkedIn. It is genuinely convenient: your profile is already there, the form is two clicks, and you can fire off a dozen before your coffee goes cold. That convenience is also the whole problem. Everyone else has the same two clicks.

What Easy Apply optimises for

A one-click application is optimised for the number of applications, not for the quality of the match. It sends the recruiter your profile, sometimes an attached CV, and usually nothing else. No cover letter. No answers explaining the gap in your history or why you are relocating. Nothing that separates you from the several hundred profiles arriving the same way.

We do not count Easy Apply submissions toward the daily targets in our own service, because they do not behave like applications. They behave like profile views with intent attached. If your application count is mostly Easy Apply, treat your real number as much lower and plan accordingly.

The alternatives, in order of return

The company careers page. Most Easy Apply postings have a matching listing on the employer’s own site, running through Greenhouse, Workday, Lever or Ashby. Applying there gets you a structured application in the system the hiring team actually reviews, with a cover letter field and screening answers attached. It takes longer. It is a different queue.

The board that owns the market. LinkedIn is dominant for professional roles in the US and UK and much weaker elsewhere. Seek in Australia, StepStone in Germany, InfoJobs in Spain, IrishJobs in Ireland — the local board usually has postings LinkedIn never sees, with a fraction of the applicant volume. Our country-by-country board guide has the full list.

The recruiter, directly. Most postings name the recruiter or the hiring manager. A short, specific message referencing the role and one relevant piece of your experience gets read far more often than an Easy Apply notification does. This does not scale to thirty a day, which is exactly why it works.

How to keep the speed

The reason people default to Easy Apply is time, not ignorance. A real application on a company careers page takes twenty to forty minutes if you write everything from scratch each time. Three things collapse that:

  • A master answer sheet. Notice period, salary expectation, work authorisation, why you are leaving, three achievement stories. Written once, pasted forever.
  • A base cover letter with two swappable paragraphs: one naming the company and the specific team, one aligning your experience to the posted requirements.
  • An ATS account per platform, created once. Workday is the painful exception and needs one per employer.

That is the manual version of what our AI toolkit does automatically: paste a job link, get a match score, a tailored cover letter and screening answers drafted from your CV in your own voice. Roughly five minutes per application instead of forty.

If you have no time at all

The honest reason Easy Apply spam persists is that doing it properly is a part-time job. If you already have a full-time one, our application specialists run the whole loop on weekdays — real applications, on the right platform for each role, with a tailored letter attached.

Put this into practice — with AI, or hands-off.

Paste any job link and get a match score, a tailored cover letter and screening answers in your voice — or have our human team submit 10 to 30 applications for you every weekday.
